Key Contracting Issues in Digital Practice Design and Construction

This session explores digital trends in design and construction- such as building information modeling (BIM) – and investigates the ramifications digital developments have on project participants, project success and the public in general. Key topics will include the use and exchange of digital data, the impact of digital data and BIM use on project communication and efficiency, and other issues related to the use and transmission of digital data.

Participants will be able to use the knowledge gained during this program to better understand AIA Contract Documents protocols and provisions that address issues related to digital practice and building information modeling. This understanding will allow for the efficient and responsible use of building information modeling, which will benefit all construction project participants, building occupants and the public in general.
