Mark Baum, AIA is the Principal and Managing Member of Mark I. Baum Architect LLC, a full-service firm focused on historic renovation, commercial and institutional work, and also consults with and mentors emerging firms in the areas of best practices, quality control, and risk management. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Louisiana State University and NCARB certification, is licensed in Louisiana and Mississippi, and has four decades of practical experience in a wide cross-section of architectural practice.
Mr. Baum has been active with the AIA, serving on boards on the local and state level and chairing several committees. While serving on the AIA New Orleans executive committee, he was instrumental in the acquisition of its Design Center and founding the New Orleans Architectural Foundation. He has served on numerous not-for-profit boards and executive committees in the New Orleans Jewish community, Touro Synagogue, NOAF, and Advocates for Excellence in Education, Inc., the Benjamin Franklin High School charter board. Mark and his wife, Jaymi, have three sons, two granddaughters, and one grandson.
