Chris’ career has focused on the design of cultural and educational projects, with an emphasis on performing arts facilities, interpretive centers, recreation centers, and elementary education. Chris started his career with GWWO in 1997 and has worked with and contributed to the firm’s growth for his entire professional career. As a senior architect and team leader, Chris has led and negotiated contracts for projects of all sizes and has also assisted others working under his supervision in the understanding and negotiation of contracts for their projects. His work focuses on the intersection of each project’s architectural expression and interior design to create cohesive and compelling user experiences. With a career rooted in practice, Chris also strives to inspire young minds to join the profession. At GWWO, Chris has redeveloped the firm’s recruitment, orientation, and talent retention programs with an eye to attracting and shaping the best and brightest future architects.

Chris joined the AIA Documents Committee in 2025. He hopes to contribute his almost thirty years of experience to reflect the needs of all the documents’ users. He also has served as a grant reviewer for the Maryland African American Heritage Preservation Program. Chris was a founding member of the Maryland Coast Smart Council, charged with establishing criteria for the siting and design of structures located within the state’s coastal areas, and has held various committee positions with the Baltimore Chapter of the AIA. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Howard University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of the West Indies.
