As a Vice President and Project Manager for the Culture practice with HKS, Courtney blends technical problem-solving with creative expression to deliver religious and cultural buildings that provide memorable experiences for generations to come. Through her professional experience and tenure on the AIA Documents Committee, Courtney has gained a unique perspective on both design and construction contracts and how they impact the day-to-day execution of a project. With this knowledge she has been able to advise on contract language that will create a level playing field for all parties participating in the construction process.

Courtney received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame and has experience in a wide range of project types and delivery methods, from working as an Imagineer at the Walt Disney Company to leading Temple projects for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and engaging with various Native American Indian Tribes on projects within their respective communities. Courtney has been instrumental in leading local firm professional development efforts, passionately supporting recent graduates and student interns in their pursuit of architectural licensure as an NCARB licensing advisor since 2017.

Courtney joined the AIA Documents Committee in 2022 and was the 2023 recipient of AIA Utah’s Young Architect Award.
