Sidney Griffin is a licensed architect in Virginia with 20+ years of firm experience in K12 and higher education design and project delivery while becoming an established leader in digital practice and building technology. Sidney presently holds the position of BIM Project Manager for the University of Virginia Facilities Management where he champions the integration of BIM into University operations and business practices. He received both Master and Bachelor of Science degrees in Architecture from the University of Virginia.

Sidney currently serves as the AIA Central Virginia President-Elect for 2022-2024 and will take on the duties of President in 2024. In his presidency, he will work with architects and architecture-adjacent companies to promote public awareness of the important roles architects play in our communities, uplift the call for environmental responsibility, and inspire the next generation of design thinkers from all backgrounds. Sidney is also an active member of the Virginia Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (VANOMA) where he serves as an advocate for significant advancements in equity, inclusion, and justice for minorities in Architecture and design professions.
